Sometimes the most important changes begin with a quiet conversation.
People come to counselling because something does not feel quite right, or because they know they want something to be different.
You might feel anxious, overwhelmed or uncertain. You may have lost confidence, be carrying too much, be recovering from a difficult period or simply be unsure what you want next.
My counselling work is particularly focused on adaptation and life realignment.
I offer focused counselling for adults who are generally functioning well, but know something needs attention, support or change, including:
feeling anxious or overwhelmed
recovering from burnout or prolonged stress
carrying too much emotional load
rebuilding confidence
adapting to a difficult life transition such as empty nest
wondering what is next in their life and how to get there
looking to reconnect with what matters
Resilience, adaptation and recovery
Resilience is not positive thinking or simply pushing through.
It involves developing the capacity to regulate and recover, adapting to changing circumstances and finding ways to respond effectively and grow.
My approach is person-centred and informed by ACT, CBT and mindfulness approaches together with more than a decade working with the science and practice of resilience.
The aim is to feel better, function better and have more capacity for the life you want to live.
What you can expect
A warm, thoughtful conversation with purpose.
I take a whole-person view because relationships, health, work, family, responsibilities, culture and circumstances all matter.
My work is strengths-based and optimistic and guided by the principle that people have a remarkable capacity to adapt, recover, learn and grow.
