Alex is a specialist in resilience and wellbeing. She has been coaching and counselling individuals in resilience and wellbeing for over 10 years and has around 3000 hours of one-to-one experience. She is a qualified mental health professional with a warm, supportive approach that is strengths-based, solutions-focused and draws rigorously on the scientific evidence for resilience, human change and recovery.
Alex encourages individuals to make personal transformations that help them move through challenges and create meaningful lives. Her clients say they value the insight Alex provides for new perspectives, as well as her empathy for challenging life circumstances.
Alex has a special interest in helping clients to rebuild their lives following adverse life experiences. She has provided counselling to families of children with cancer through RedKite and co-facilitated RedKite’s post treatment recovery program for parents. She has also undertaken social work in the Neurology and Spinal Injury Unit of the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney. These experiences deepened her interest and understanding of the science of ‘recovery from adversity’.
To support her own wellbeing, Alex engages in running, outdoor fitness and long-distance walks with her Border Collie. She is a qualified yoga teacher and has practiced yoga for over 20 years.
